Seeking employment? Want a rewarding career in an thriving and dynamic industry? Are you an energetic and dedicated individual? No degree required. Hands on experience provided.
Imagine this narrative. A man approaches you on the street of life. He asks you about the desires of your heart. He listens intently as you passionately describe your dreams, goals, and aspirations in life. He is so very interested in what you have to say. He never interrupts you.
You talk for hours on in. This conversation goes on for days even. You light up each time He asks. But one day, during one of your pauses, He speaks. He begins to encourage you by speaking words of wisdom of how you can be anything you want to be. All you have to do is take some simple advice from Him.
That’s it. He wants to give you a few steps to take. Not a laundry list. Just a couple things to do like (1) Trust Him. (2) Keep your eyes on the goal. (3) Never give up. He shares that if you follow those three simple things, He will give you a house of treasures. Filled up and overflowing. He makes you this promise but you have to do this one thing for Him. You have one job.
You are needed to build a boat.
That’s all. How easy is that? You have the boat instructions. Take part A, use the hammer to attach it to part B, then affix it to part C. Screw those into part D then attach to E and F. Continue to follow the manual until completion. If you get lost, refer back to this manual until you get back on track. Don’t deviate from the rules. And yes, all of those parts will be used. The manufacturer didn’t just give you extra parts to confuse you.
Taking too long? Keep building. Doesn’t look like the picture? Keep building. Family and friends confused about this project of yours? Are they questioning your efforts? They don’t believe you can finish it, do they? Keep building. They know you. You have a tendency to always start projects and have never finished one before. Plus that Man, that stranger that approached you, doesn’t know what He was talking about. This isn’t simple at all.
Keep building.
They are laughing at you. You are getting weak and your body is sore. The fruits of your labor are nowhere to be found. It’s so easy to say “forget this. This isn’t working for me.” Plus if you quit, you won’t have the pressure of it all.
Keep building!
I just don’t want to speak. I am a speaker. I don’t care who doesn’t know me, it doesn’t eliminate the skill by the lack of acknowledgement of it. This is something He has made easy for me. Over a year ago, I wanted to start back speaking because after I got married, I got distracted. I became a wife, I went back to school for my doctorate degree so I was a student, and in that same time I became a mommy. I got distracted and got off of course.
But even now that I’ve gotten back on, trust it hasn’t been easy. All sorts of life’s nuances have presented itself. Nothing I can’t handle but some days I do feel like giving up. But I have to keep my mind fixed on the goal. I must keep my eyes fixed on Him. If not, I will turn my back on fulfilling this dream that makes me feel so good. It makes me feel alive!
Can you imagine such a dream career? Only skills required are the ones you were specifically given to you. Meaning you were born for this. Why not go after it? It’s not that hard. If He gives it to you, He will equip you, and He will see you through. All you have to do, is build a boat.
Keep building.
Thanks for your attention. Remember you are your own competition.
