Sometimes you have to let go and let God. But do you really know what that means? KEY: How strong is your faith? Being able to do this requires a great deal of faith.
Faith of not knowing what is around the corner. But the faith to travel that way anyhow. Faith to not question but to know in your heart, it will work itself out. Faith to take another step and another one, with only His promise to push you along.
It’s hard but I do my best work when I go on with the assignment without knowing how He will do it but believing He will. I can’t lie and say I don’t try to figure things out on my own. I often have my assumptions on how He is going to fix a situation or how I will make it to a certain destination. Only to arrive a different way, through a different outcome.
Either way, I’m overjoyed to see how He’d resolved things. And you know what? His way is far better than anything I’d imagined. Always better.
I can recall feeling stuck at work. I’d been in my office and had moved up the ladder pretty good but just wanted a new adventure. A new challenge. So I thought that if another promotion wasn’t available, why not move laterally just to get out. Well after being offered a lateral position, my boss basically denied it because he really wanted me in my current office. Basically, I was still stuck but I trusted God had me.
Less than a year later, to my surprise, my boss left and I was promoted to the highest position within my office. Now had I left, I would’ve missed the opportunity for this position. It was the same office but a different challenge so I took it and loved it.
Deep down I still had the desire to diversify my resume. I wasn’t ungrateful. I just knew I couldn’t just be in my office for the rest of my career. So I gave 💯 while still looking out for my next assignment. About 2.5 years later, the opportunity came.
That would seem like a long time but it wasn’t. It gave me time to learn how to manage at the new level I was on. To learn the ropes. To learn the new players at this level. The politics. The real rules of the game. I’ve been there 2 years and love it. Every day is a new adventure.
I want to encourage you to take your hands off of the wheel. Let it go. Hit cruise control. As long as you are heading in the direction He pointed you in, trust it’s the best. Make your requests known and work hard. He hears and sees you. And if it’s His will, you will know as He will order your steps and direct your path.
To watch everything fall into place, is a beautiful feeling. To know you are on the right path, it makes taking the next step easier. Fear may come in but knowing you have a forever partner and guide, makes the journey worth it.
Thanks for your attention. Remember you are your own competition.
