Sooooo actually 2 weeks has gone by! And I’m guilty of not blogging last week. Shoot me. LOL. JK
I’ve been busy but I wasn’t going to let today’s post go unwritten. I have to tell you how to do IT. Well, what is it?
Good question! Now, you tell me. Last time, I told you all that I’m often asked, “Nakia, how do you do it all.” I decided to break this thing down over several blogs.
Part 1 revealed that first we must know what it is that we were made for. Rather you or a believer or not, either way, you weren’t placed here just to consume oxygen and space. I believe our God purposefully took His time to make each and every one of us.
He took a great amount of time orchestrating our grandparents to meet one summer day and fall in love and from them your parents were derived…and along came you. He put you within a season of time that needed your help. There is a problem existing today that needs a solution. So guess what!
That’s where YOU come in! It wasn’t by happenstance that I gave you all 2 weeks to hash it out with yourself and remind yourself of the purpose of your lives. More than likely, you already knew the answer to my last parting question. Chances are great you started on the journey of fulfilling your purpose. And then you just…
STOPPED.
But not this time! So how can you do it? Well, easy. Just do it! Don’t think about it. Don’t wait until the inspiration hits you. Don’t wait for the motivation or the epiphany to magically appear; because you know what?
It ain’t coming! PERIODT (new age word y’all).
For the inspiration and drive to come, you have to work it first. Does the car drive off when you place the car in drive? Ummm absolutely NOT. It may move forward a little bit but unless you are on a hill, it ain’t going nowhere. To get it to move, you have to give it some gas.
Get some “gas” about yourself. Don’t just start talking about all the wonderful things you say you can do (starting the car and just idling there). Give it some gas and GO! Do something. Anything. Step one or step one-half. It don’t matter, just MOVE.
Guess what else?!? You are in control of the gas, aren’t you? Therefore, you control how fast and how slow you go. Just know this…to get to your destination, you must move the car. You must give it some gas. It doesn’t matter how long it takes you to arrive. As long as you make it there. YOU THERE! You will have arrived!
For this coming up week, practice giving your purpose a little gas. Next week, I shall be back with advice on avoiding the detours (distractions) that can take you off course and further away from your destination. Stay tuned. #share
Thank you for your attention. Remember you are your own competition.
