Marriage Theme: “How to Walk that Walk”

Held at the Connection – A College and Career Ministry conference set for November 3rd and 4th. The theme is “Sowing Seeds – Planting, Nurturing, Growing” & the scriptural theme is Galatians 6: 7-9.  

“Married Couples Game Night.

As married couples become parents, we often only focus on the parties, play dates, family game nights, and other fun things for our kids. We want their childhood to be magically in their eyes. Oh how we love to see their eyes light up when they are aware of what’s in store for them. Well on this night, my husband and I wanted to focus on the core of that family, which is the husband and wife. Goal was to play games with other couples, laugh hysterically and enjoy themselves. But I had a treat in store for them. You know how we often have visions for our individual lives? Ever done a personal vision board? Well the special guest was this amazing Plus Size Model, Mrs. Sharonda Grandberry. Her and her husband were greeted with that same glow behind their eyes as they realized it was time to take their relationship to another level.

As the keynote speaker, I wanted to express to the young people that humble beginnings doesn’t dictate your future. The Bible reveals 3 truths: (a) we all were born with a purpose that God has predestined, (b) God will be with us while we carry out His purpose, and (c) He equips us to fulfill that purpose. I shared that the most important thing is to determine your purpose and it’s done through prayer, reflecting, and listening.
